Next Steps: The Value of Transitional Housing

At Jericho Road Ministries we have a 25 month program, but it comes in stages. As an individual continues through the program, he or she will get opportunities to experience more freedoms. One of those opportunities is to move from our main men’s or women’s center, where everyone starts, to one of our transitional houses.

A transitional house is a property for residents who have graduated the initial 5 month program which we call Ezra 1. The purpose for these moves is two fold - first, we need the space at the centers for new residents, so when someone who is ready is able to move to a transitional house, that opens up a bed for someone who wants to begin their recovery journey. Second, by moving into one of these houses the individual is taking a vital step towards long term sobriety and freedom from past struggles.

These houses are for residents who have graduated Ezra 1 and who want to stay with Jericho Road as they begin to experience more freedoms and start to reintegrate into society. The residents in these homes have a shared desire to maintain their sobriety, to continue to grow in their faith and to begin experiencing a life lived without the burden of addiction.

Transitional properties are a key piece of our program, and as we grow, the need for more of these properties will rise. Please be in prayer with us that God continues to open doors and that Jericho Road continues to be a place where we give the next individual a hand up.
