Pay: $36,000-$38,000
Hours: 40 Full-time

Job Summary:

Assist in managing fundraising processes and donor stewardship efforts for Jericho Road Ministries through donor databases and direct mail campaigns. The Development Assistant reports to the VP of Development. They must be a born-again Christian of proven testimony and evidence of spiritual growth including leadership, discipleship, maturity, discernment, patience, objectivity, and stewardship effectiveness.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field – or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional office experience.

  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising or development preferred.

  • Experience working for a nonprofit or faith-based organization is a plus.

  • Familiarity with donor databases and Microsoft Office preferred.

  • Familiarity with fundraising and donor stewardship practices preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent administrative and recordkeeping abilities.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

  • Strong written communication and proofreading skills.

  • Knowledge of donor databases or CRM systems preferred.

  • Experience with direct mail campaigns preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data management systems.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate, reach with hands and arms, lift, and to speak and listen.  Occasionally this position may be required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to operate a motorized vehicle.

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks that support fundraising and development operations.

  • Process charitable gifts and assist with timely and accurate donor receipting.

  • Import, update, and maintain donor records within the donor management database.

  • Ensure donor information remains accurate, organized, and up to date.

  • Support data integrity initiatives by identifying and correcting database inconsistencies.

  • Prepare, update, and coordinate donor acknowledgment letters, thank-you communications, and stewardship materials.

  • Assist with donor communication through email, direct mail, phone calls, and other stewardship touchpoints.

  • Complete thank-you calls to donors and help cultivate positive, long-term donor relationships.

  • Assist in the planning, writing, and coordination of direct mail appeals and fundraising campaigns.

  • Support donor tracking, reporting, and fundraising performance metrics.

  • Assist with ministry events, donor engagement activities, and special fundraising initiatives.

  • Provide administrative support to the Development Team as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding donor information and organizational records.

  • Perform other development and fundraising-related duties as assigned.
