Community Relations Director

Salary Range: 38k - 40k

Job Summary:

Jericho Road Ministries is seeking a Community Relations Director, responsible for building relationships with donors, enhancing Jericho Road’s image in the community, and aiding the VP of Development in securing important funding to fuel the ministry. The primary role of this individual is to represent Jericho Road Ministries to the community and ministry partners, working to maintain and enhance the organization’s public image while striving to achieve fundraising goals.

Christian Commitment:

Education and/or Experience:

  • A.A. Degree (or equivalent) in communications, marketing, or nonprofit management.

  • Experience networking with high profile professionals and entrepreneurs

  • At least 2 years experience working in nonprofit fundraising or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including the ability to write and speak persuasively about the Mission with the ability to build relationships.

  • Detailed, deadline oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects within tight schedules.

  • Must understand the donor database and how to effectively use it.

  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

  • Self-motivated 

  • Must maintain the Christian integrity of Jericho Road as the community is engaged.

  • Must understand social media and how to effectively use it.

  • Must be flexible and willing to work non-conventional hours upon demand.

  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. 

  • Maintain an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our insurance carrier, less than 2 DMV points on driving record).

  • Maintain membership in good standing status at a Bible-believing church. Regular timely attendance.

Physical Demands:

Travel is an essential aspect of this position and evening/weekend work is sometimes required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly drive, stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate, reach with hands and arms, lift, and speak and listen.  There may be long periods of sitting in front of a computer screen. Must be able to operate a motorized vehicle; a valid Florida driver license is a necessity.

General Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize community and fundraising events that promote the mission of Jericho Road Ministries, ensuring that events are well-organized, engaging, and raise funds aligning with Development goals.

  • Actively attend organizational meetings related to Jericho Road Ministries, collaborating internally to stay informed about projects and initiatives.

  • Represent Jericho Road Ministries at various community meetings, networking groups, and events, strengthening the organization’s presence and visibility in the community (ex. BNI, Rotary, and Hernando Chamber)

  • Serve as an advocate for Jericho Road Ministries, ensuring the organization’s mission, values, and goals are clearly communicated and well-received by the community.

  • Track and monitor expenses related to community relations and fundraising efforts, ensuring that activities are conducted within budget.

  • Support other duties as assigned by the VP of Development and COO.
