Job Summary:

The Case Worker works under the direct supervision of the Reentry Director. They must be a born-again Christian of proven testimony and evidence of spiritual growth including leadership, discipleship, maturity, discernment, patience, objectivity, and stewardship effectiveness. They must be able to share his or her testimony with program residents with Christ-centered behavior, i.e., treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity at all times. The position may require work beyond the normal hours and on weekends/holidays, as typical operations run 24/7. Work at the Center requires continual attention to details in overseeing residents, holding to policy program guidelines, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines. This employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated flexibility and an ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. The Case Worker  must have experience relevant to Recovery Ministry and have a valid Florida Driver's License.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience in a related field such as in a social work/counseling environment or within a ministry setting. 

  • Work experience with a non-profit, rescue ministry is a plus but not required

  • Proven Spiritual counseling experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Excellent interpersonal, creative problem solving, organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent computer skills, including Google Drive and applicable computer software programs 

  • Supervisory experience with the ability to hold residents accountable for their individual program goals.

  • Knowledge and experience working with men, women and children in crisis.

  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills including good organizational and administrative skills.

  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. 

  • Maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

  • Maintain an acceptable driving record 

  • Maintain membership in good standing status at a local Bible-believing church. Regular timely attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervisory responsibilities include the supervision of staff (this includes volunteers), residents, and community service workers in accordance with Jericho’s policies and procedures while maintaining appropriate boundaries. This may include orienting and training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include orientation and coaching of residents in order that they attain employee  skills. As a supervisor, employee will also be required to form effective working relationships with other supervisors, subordinates, ministry staff, and the public. Supervisors will be expected to demonstrate aptitude for both personal and professional development as related to future goals and needs of the Center and its contribution to the overall ministry of Jericho Road Ministries, Inc.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate, reach with hands and arms, lift, and to speak and listen.  Occasionally this position may be required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to operate a motorized vehicle.

Job Duties:

  • Schedule appointments for residents 

  • Administer and adhere to policy manuals, memos and procedures related to this job and remain updated on amendments and changes or memos related to policy, maintaining correct procedures in your work

  • Work in conjunction with the Reentry Director and Center Managers 

  • Ensure that residents are receiving their program as outlined by Center Policy guidelines

  • Administer Self Sufficiency Matrix for residents

  • Create individual case plans for each resident.

  • Counsel residents concerning their spiritual, mental and physical needs with biblical wisdom. 

  • Keep case notes up to date in tracking software.

  • Dial 911 in the event of an accident or medical emergency. Contact your superiors in the event of a medical emergency. Dial 911 first. An incident report is to be completed whenever a 911 call is made.

  • Report any resident/guest wishing to harm him/herself, wishing to harm another person, wishing to destroy anyone’s personal or mission property to the authorities by dialing 911. Then report this immediately to the Programs Director and get assistance from another staff person on site.

  • Report any serious resident/guest disturbances immediately to the Programs Director or Chief Executive Officer. Make an incident report for such a disturbance and review with Programs Director. 

  • Meet and communicate weekly with the Reentry Director regarding case plans. 

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and unobstructed workplace

  • Assist the Reentry Director in the development of day-to-day internal policies, procedures and programs to implement the general policies of the Residence.

  • Carries out such general responsibilities as may be delegated by the Programs Director.

  • Promote spontaneous Bible and Spiritual discussions.

  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. 

  • Stay updated on community resources and employment opportunities in order to facilitate the program.

  • Handle resident and/or personnel problems

  • Report incidents using an Incident Report according to policy guidelines.

  • Communicates the vision, mission and objectives of Jericho Road Ministries to staff

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards are established and maintained
