Strengthening Recovery Through Food & Nutrition

At Jericho Road Ministries, recovery is about more than overcoming addiction and difficult circumstances. It’s about rebuilding lives physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Every single month, more than 6,000 meals are served across our men’s and women’s recovery centers. Those meals provide more than nourishment. They create consistency, structure, dignity, and opportunities for residents to learn healthy habits that support long-term recovery.

Over the past year, we’ve been incredibly thankful to complete several important improvements that are helping strengthen food services across our ministry. Watch the video below to hear more from Kelly Klukowski, VP of Development, about these exciting updates and the lasting impact they are making.

Improvements Across Our Recovery Centers

1. Women’s Center Kitchen Renovation:The kitchen at our women’s center received a beautiful renovation, creating a more functional and welcoming space for meal preparation and daily community life. This upgraded kitchen now better supports the women participating in our REbuilt recovery program.

2. New Commercial Oven at the Men’s Center: At our men’s center, we installed a new commercial oven that allows meals to be prepared more efficiently for the many residents living there each day. This improvement helps our kitchen helpers serve large meals more effectively.

3. Pantry Reorganization: We reorganized and improved our food pantry spaces to create better storage, easier accessibility, and more efficient food distribution. These updates help us better care for the food resources donated by our community while improving day-to-day operations for staff and residents.

4. Food Services Manager Position: As part of this project, we added a dedicated Food Services Manager role. This position helps oversee food distribution, weekly meal planning, pantry coordination, and nutrition-focused education for residents across our recovery centers.

5. Nutrition & Life Skills Classes: Residents now participate in practical food-related classes that teach important life skills such as: meal planning, grocery budgeting, healthy cooking, kitchen safety, nutrition basics. These classes help prepare residents for independent living after graduation.

6. ServSafe Certification Opportunities: Residents also have the opportunity to earn their ServSafe certification, giving them valuable job training and additional confidence as they pursue employment opportunities after completing the program.

Thank You for Helping Make This Possible

These improvements were made possible through the generosity of donors and community partners who believe in our mission to love our neighbors on the road to recovery.

We are especially grateful to Community Foundation Tampa Bay for helping make this vision a reality.

How You Can Help

One simple way to support this work is by donating food or supply items. Donations can be dropped off at any of our thrift store locations during store hours. You can also organize a food or supply drive for your church, business, school, or community group. Every donation helps provide practical support, hope, and encouragement to the men and women rebuilding their lives through our recovery program.

Thank you for being part of this community and helping us continue to love our neighbors on the road to recovery!
