Thrift Store Truck Driver

The Truck Driver works under the direct supervision of the Thrift Store Director. This individual must be a born-again Christian of proven testimony and evidence of spiritual growth including: leadership, discipleship, maturity, discernment, patience, objectivity, and stewardship effectiveness. This person must be able to share his or her testimony with program clients. As a professional motorist, duties include some light mechanical work, some paperwork, a lot of communication, and, of course, driving the truck. Safety to the truck driver and other motorists is of utmost importance. In order to save time and fuel, a truck driver must follow a strict schedule which requires him/her to be at certain pickup and drop-off points on time. Besides extensive traveling from one destination to another, a truck driver will spend a lot of time packing and unpacking various goods such as, furniture, electronics, clothing and other products that must be delivered to a specific location. A truck driver is responsible for all goods transported.

  • Ability to focus while driving; no texting or telephone calls while driving. All telephone calls are to be made when at each scheduled stop. In the case of an emergency, driver will be expected to pull over and stop to use the telephone or should get his/her assistant to make the call.
  • Ability to administer all safety precautions for self and staff that have been established by the ministry.

 

Thrift Store Cashier/Production Worker

The Thrift Store Cashier/Production Worker works under the direct supervision of the Thrift Store Manager. This individual must be a born-again Christian of proven testimony and evidence of spiritual growth including: leadership, discipleship, maturity, discernment, patience, objectivity, and stewardship effectiveness. This person must be able to share his or her testimony with program clients. This individual will operate a cash register to record all transactions accurately and efficiently. Excellent customer service being critical, this person will assist customers by phone or in person at the cash register. This individual must be able to answer customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise and be able to follow standard Jericho operating procedures when carrying out position responsibilities.

  • The ability to efficiently operate a cash register.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Detail oriented and highly observant
  • Ability to actively listen, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Stewardship Director. This individual must be a born-again Christian of proven testimony and evidence of spiritual growth including: leadership, discipleship, maturity, discernment, patience, objectivity, and stewardship effectiveness. This person must be able to share his or her testimony with program clients. As the Administrative Assistant, this individual must be able to coordinate his/her schedule in order to meet various deadlines related to the Jericho Newspaper, donor database with accompanying thank you letters, fundraising agencies with relevant reports, and to effectively handle Jericho’s social media. The individual must have:

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, creative problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficiency in using the Internet, Microsoft Office Suite Software Systems, QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, Publisher.
  • Data-entry level at least 40 WPM.

Qualifications include:

  • Associates Degree or minimum 2 years’ of college
  • 2 years’ experience working in a professional office environment
  • Minimum of 1 year data-entry experience
  • Minimum of 1 year social media experience, including but not limited to, website updating

 

Shelter Desk Manager

The Shelter Desk Manager must have experience relevant to Rescue or Shelter Ministry and must have a valid Florida Driver License. This employee will work under the direct supervision of the Shelter Manager. This individual must be a born-again Christian of proven testimony and evidence of spiritual growth including: leadership, discipleship, maturity, discernment, patience, objectivity, and stewardship effectiveness. This person must be able to share his or her testimony with program clients with Christ-centered behavior, i.e., treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity at all times. Position may require work beyond the normal hours and on weekends/holidays, as typical operations run 24/7. Work at the Shelter requires continual attention to details in overseeing clients, holding to policy program guidelines, establishing  priorities and meeting deadlines. This employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated flexibility and an ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. The Shelter Desk Manager must have a valid Florida Driver License. The individual must have:

  • Christ-centered behavior, i.e., treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity at all times.
  • Supervisory experience with the ability to hold clients accountable for their individual program goals.
  • Knowledge and experience working with men, women and children in crisis.
  • Ability to teach Bible and client curriculum
  • A pleasant personality to people you are speaking to on the telephone, visitors, and company personnel.
  • The ability to act and think promptly and professionally.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills including good organizational and administrative skills.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Hands-on computer knowledge, understanding and skill with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer.
  • Maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our insurance carrier, less than 2 DMV points on driving record)
  • Maintain membership in good standing status at a local Bible-believing church.
  • Regular timely attendance.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience in a related field such as in a social work/counseling environment or within a ministry setting.
