Jericho Road purchases a duplex to be used for graduating clients as a transitional home. Renovations
continue and our first graduate moves in by June 2004.
May 2003
Nicholson Engineering begins developing plans for our new thrift store at the Wiscon Road site.
February 2003
The Veterans Administration office in the county donates a used 15-passenger van to be used for
transporting clients.
June 2002
Purchase a used box truck for the thrift store operations. The old truck is sold in September.
May 2002
Renovations of the Shelter garage are completed. The space is converted into two offices and a chapel
area for worship or client classes. The remaining space in the house is converted to sleeping areas.
Bed space expands to 14 beds.
January 2002
A local family donates their Mini-van to the mission for transporting clients.
Survey work begins on the Wiscon Road property.
Jericho Road begins providing Emergency Shelter for women and families at local area motels.
December 2001
Ten acres of property are purchased on Wiscon Road for the future site of the Mission Thrift Store and
Shelter buildings. One day a Family Shelter will be constructed.
October 1, 2000
The Mission is launched. The Men's shelter opens and we begin with our first client on October 15th,
a man named Ron S. Before the end of the month we have four men in shelter.
The Thrift Store opens its doors to the public on October 1st. Donations continue to pour into that location.
September 2000
We locate a retail space for our new Thrift Store in Midway Plaza, Highway 50, between Spring Hill and
Brooksville. The lease is signed and the set up of the store begins.
I am put in touch with a man who would become our shelter worker. He agrees to come and work at the
Men's Shelter.
June 2000
Renovations are completed on the shelter. We begin looking for a Shelter worker to assist me in
operations. We also begin looking for a site to open a thrift store to sell the enormous amount of
donations coming in to the ministry.
November 15, 1999
Purchased the commercial property at 1090 Mondon Hill Road to become our first Men's Homeless
Shelter. Renovation begins on the property. Yard sales continue at the proposed shelter site through
September 2000 to pay for renovations and provide for the ministry.
June 1999
Awarded $100,000 by Daystar Hope Center to start a Family Shelter Program in Hernando County.
January 1999
Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church commits $30,000 of operational funds for the coming year.
